The last flood that came through town was only in January 2005. The damage it did in 2005 was more extensive I believe in ways. But, any flood is just as scary. 5 homes went into the River in Littlefield/Beaver Dam which was very sad to see. The damage to the number of homes down in our area was not as bad as before, but still bad especially to those that were not here in 2005. The streets & homes are still needing much clean up. Pretty crazy, especially for just a few days before Christmas. Thanks goodness our house is still far enough down the street. But, we were so glad we could help our ward and community where ever we could. Artie was down there for about 12 hours that first day and a few hours the next couple. I was able to help for a couple hours the first day and it was so amazing to see the whole community come together! We have a great Community! It rained for like a week straight which was weird, I could never live anywhere where it did that all the time. I gotta say, It was so nice to finally see the sun! The kids even kept commenting on how nice the sun was that day when it finally came out. It's amazing how we take things like that for granted!

this is when the water was just starting to come over the fields at Hunter park by our house. |

This picture is looking directly at field 1, but you can see field 2 & 3 are completey covered by this point. it didn't take long at all for this to happen. |
 |
Wow! This is more of a close up of the fields competely covered! |

A few of the volunteers just starting to sand bag and do whatever they can. Later on the whole street was lined with cars and volunteers of people willing to help. It brought tears to my eyes and still does when I think about it! |

Alley took this picture of me because I was covered in mud. =)
When Artie came home that night he was soaked from head to toe, he was in it waist deep just down here on the end street on "Cottonwood." I tried to blow dry his boots that night so they could at least be dry & warm for a little bit the next day. =) |
