I ran the Biggest Loser 5K at the Tuacahn. It was so much fun! It was my first 5K...yay....I'm so excited to do more. I've only been running for a couple months and I am shocked at how much I like it. This is the longest I've ever ran in my life without stopping...seriously, I know it's only 3.1 miles haha, but I've never done long distances before, only sprinting. It was definitely hard to get started but I wanted to be a runner so bad and I've worked my way up and I can't wait to get better and better. In May I'm doing a 10K with my side of the family which I am now really excited about!! So stay tuned for that... :)
It was fun to have a girls weekend and experience this with the "Shaner girls" (and Jamie's Mom) :) The night before we went to dinner and then stayed at Beau and Jamie's (no boys allowed..haha)
Here we are FREEZING while waiting for the race to start, I wanted to wear my jacket, but I knew once I started running I would get hot, so it was tough in the beginning because my body was still cold, but it warmed up fast :)
Rocki, Jamie, Cheryl (Jamie's mom), Me, Mary
Rocki and I posed with some of the past contestants from "The Biggest Loser." They ran as well. It was a lot of fun to get pictures with them. Here we are with Daris (I'll have to figure out which season, I think it was last season??) This was right after the race, I'm looking pretty tired...haha, how is that Rocki looks so good??? :)
I thought Sam was pretty cute and he's very nice....sorry ladies he's engaged :)
(Koli was there as well, but we didn't get a pic darn it)
see Adam (last season) in the background congratulating the finishers.
This is Sarah from the current season. She looks so good and is so sweet! Isn't she cute!
The finish line was across the Tuacahn stage. Right after we finished it started pouring rain...and we headed up to the patio for more pics and autographs :)
Ada and Adam from last season signing my shirt
I love Ada, she is awesome, I loved her last season!!
Here is my number
I had so much fun! It was an extra bonus getting to see some of the biggest loser contestants in person. During the race I was wishing it was flat...haha, some of the little ups and downs were gonna kill me...well, the downs were good. Jamie and I stuck to together and Mary and Rocki & Cheryl did awesome somewhere in front of us...LOL.
Here are my stats:
3.1 miles/5K Time: 34:28
In my division/age/gender: 18th out of 80
Overall: 129 out of 572
I felt pretty dang good for my first 5K...I'm excited to improve!!
