a Quick Vacation...

We headed to Orem, Utah for my 3rd year and final Let's Play Music Training.  After every training I am just amazed at this awesome program....it's just plain brilliant!!! I love it!! The training was great...I still wasn't feeling real good, but better than I did the day before. Artie and the kids headed off to grab some lunch as I went to my training for a few hours. This 3rd year training was only 3 hours instead of an all day event. I was pretty happy about that considering I was exhausted.
The next day we ate the continental breakfast and then headed to Cabelas in Lehi! Since we were only 20 minutes away we decided to go since we had never been there yet. We spent hours in Cabelas.  We had a ton of fun!! The kids loved it and Artie could have stayed there all day...LOL. I should have taken the camera in...darn! I thought it was pretty cool, we looked at everything.  The kids loved the animals and the aquarium.  We let them feed the fish and play at the fun shooting target place where the pretend skunk kept spraying water on us...haha.  I got some fudge for us at the fudge shop and by then we were all tired and ready to head home.  We stopped back in Orem to eat at Golden Corral....I was very excited they had hard icecream and so much more than the St. George one :)
It was a very quick trip but we had fun!!

Here are some cute pics of the kids in the Hotel room.  They were wired all weekend and they had a blast in the room.  They thought it was so cool because it had a seperate room with a toilet/sink and then another room for the shower and vanity, a big sofa, fridge and microwave and a computer desk with a slide open window that looked into the room.  It was a a pretty nice room.
 I'm loving these faces

trying to pretend to be asleep :)

 silly kids

Aren't they so cute!!? Looking at these pictures makes me almost miss them...I just know they are gonna grow up so fast. I'm glad we can make fun memories together!

Midnight 5K

Mary, Rocki and I ran the Midnight 5K in St. George this last weekend. We had been signed up for months. That day I ended up going to the Doctor because I was not feeling well.  I had swollen tonsils, lymphnodes, chills and body aches....NOT GOOD! I have to get my tonsils out...BOO! (Not what I was looking forward to this summer) So, he gave me antibiotics and said it wouldn't do any more damage to run the race, but I would feel real crappy!! I couldn't just not finish, so I wanted to run....and I DID FEEL CRAPPY! I was so looking forward to doing this race and I was not happy that I wasn't feeling well at all. DANG! But, I tried to forget how I was feeling and enjoy it as much as I could.
We got this sweet glow in the dark stuff!! But, we were party poopers and took it off before we ran, I did a quick warm up jog and it was driving me crazy with it on.
It was so dark sometimes I couldn't see anything at all, just running in the dark hoping I didn't trip and then sometimes I was blinded with lights that they had throughout the course, my body was just tired and not good and half way through I thought I might pass out...haha... it was crazy!

I finished with a time of 29:46
Overall: 228 out of 625 people
101 out of 402 women
24 out of 79 in my age group
I'm just looking forward to improving.....

We went on to Cedar afterwards where the rest of our families were sleeping and Artie, the kids and I had to wake up early and go to Orem for my Let's Play Music Training.  I was hoping I would feel much better the next day...haha, but I was exhausted! Oh well- it was a fun experience! Now on to the next one!! :)

2nd Grade Triathlon

Every year the kids in Mr. Durbins P.E classes look forward to the Spring Triathlon.  Ashlyn is excited that she gets to do it next year.  (they don't participate in the triathlon in Kindergarten)
~Alley and Kyla Bohne waiting for the boys to finish so they can start~
On your mark, get set GO!
They ran all the way down the field and back. Alley got tripped up on the way down the field and fell completely on the grass and was dead last as she got back up.  But, she ran her heart out to catch up and caught up pretty well.  This is their way back up the field. Go Alley!!!
Then they went straight into the gym and they scoot all the way around the gym sitting on these scooters. Then, they run their way to the pool....Alley jumped in clear down at the other end....oh my, we were yelling at her to get out and run down to the other end.  She finally noticed and got out, she lost so much time, Dang it!! Oh well- she jumped in and tried to swim, but she was EXHAUSTED...most of the kids hung onto the edge at the deep end because they were way too tired to swim, some were bawling by this point :) and they made there way down to where they could reach and then ran out of the pool.

All finished!! We are so proud of Alley for finishing and even catching up so good after falling, jumping in at the wrong end of the pool and having issues with getting her shoes off.  (we will be prepared next year with going over the map of the route, getting good running but slip-on shoes and trying not to get tripped :) she kept going and finished and did soooo good!!! She wanted to be in the top 10 so bad!! :( She ended up being 23 out of all of the 2nd grade girls!! Way to Go Alley...we are so proud of you!!
I just had to snap this picture of Ammon and Sydnee (Anderson).
They are so cute together!!

Spring GyMnAsTiCs Performance

The girls had their Spring Gymnastics performance last week.
Ashlyn is in the Wednesday Beginning class and Alley is in the Wednesday Intermediate class. Both of their performances were great!! Way to Go girls!

Ammon and some other little boys were gettin' down to the music during all this....oh ya, we got video (I'll try and share soon) so funny!!
Ashlyn accepting her ribbon and award
Alley accepting her ribbon and award and did the gymnastics pose and then did a bow :)
They are getting pretty great at it and Ashlyn even loves to perform now, she isn't quite as shy as she use to be. They are both improving, Alley is so happy she can go down into her backbend without a spot, and she can do a pretty great back handspring with me spotting her. Yay girls!!

Since I was so into gymnastics, I am happy the girls like it so much and hope they love it one day like I did!!

~10th Anniversary~

We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary on May 19th.  We actually didn't celebrate until the weekend after the actual day :) and it was a pretty busy weekend.  I'm so happy we were able to get away and go to St. George for a few hours.  We headed to the Temple first and did some Temple Sealings.  Such a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Awesome!
Uh.....this is not a flattering picture....of course he has to pull faces! LOL
It was a beautiful day at the Temple
Then we went off to Texas Roadhouse to eat..YuM!!
Just fooling around at dinner! :)
We were so stuffed after dinner....so we walked around some shops...so fun without the kids...haha.
Just chillin'....Trying out some camping chairs. :)
We were still so stuffed, but the plans were that we were going to get dessert at Cold Stone.  I ended up getting some and we each could only take a few bites.....but it's just soooo good!! Wish I had some right now :)
Artie ended up getting me a new Rose bush and also a "pink lemonade" lemon tree and also some Honeysuckle.  I'm so excited to plant them all. Thank you honey!!

We had a great afternoon together just us, we didn't do anything too fancy, but just right! It seems weird that it has already been 10 years.....can't wait for the next 50.

Aunt Kim, the girls and I went to Los Lupes for Dinner & to Celebrate....I felt so good to have it Over!!
Since the boys were gone for the night at "Fathers and Sons," we pulled a girls night and the girls talked me into sleeping at Aunt Kim's house.  I was soooo tired, so they partied until about midnight and I rested :)
****
I guess the boys had a great time at Fathers and Sons, Artie was brave and took both boys...haha.  I guess they did okay sleeping in the Explorer.
They went into a cool mine, you can barely see Ammon in the 2nd pic :)
All Ammon talked about was the rattle snake they saw and they were a ball of dirt when they got home. :)  They had a great time!!

*My First 10K*

I did my first 10k in Kanab, Saturday, May 7.  I can't believe I took on a 10k.  Never thought I would be running a 10k, 6.2 miles straight. I'm so proud of myself for doing it and I'm looking forward to getting better and better. I didn't get the greatest sleep the night before.  Adler doesn't do well without his own bed and he ended up in bed with us and then I ended up on the floor and then Adler fell of the bed and then I switched places with Artie and so on and so on...LOL. I only got about 5 hours of sleep and I don't function well without sleep....haha.  When the race first started I was cold and tired and like what am I thinking...my body is not going to move.  I felt soooo tired when I started running.
BUT- I did it and under an hour which was my goal.  I was hoping for faster, but oh well.  I had a fun first 10k.  Erica was snapping pics of me as I went around the last corner..haha.....and then she,Artie and the kids met me at the finish line.  Daniel drove Andrea to see the end too. Too bad she wasn't running it with me. :( I didn't know anybody else running except for Mr. Durbin!! I'm not surprised he was there, I think he must do any and every race you could think of. :) He did great and talked non-stop to us after wards. He's a pretty cool guy and a bit Cuckoo as he would say! :)

Almost there......

I did it

Me and the kids- they can't look the sun is too bright...haha
I won a gift certificate for $20 to Lotsa Motsa pizza in Kanab in a drawing after the race,
so we got lunch for everybody
My stats: 44 out of 107 women.  There was 167 total running. My official time was 59:22.

We did have a great time staying at Erica's even though it was short.  I think I'll shoot for it again next year!!
