Ashlyn turned 6

Ashlyn is 6, the time goes so fast! I was sadly at Girls Camp on her actual Day, July 8th.  :( I left her a big bag of fun things to open on her day while I was gone.  I know she was sad though. Dad and the rest of them had a fun day though playing the day away. I got home the next day and we had some girl time. :)

We had Ice cream cake at Papa & Nana's that Sunday & she got a few more presents.

Ashlyn is really starting to come out of her shell.  She is still a bit shy around people she doesn't quite know, but not as much as she use too...maybe.  She isn't afraid to say what she thinks sometimes, she doesn't let Alley boss her around very often, she knows what she wants to do and when :) I can't believe she is going to be in First Grade.  She is excited to be going into Ms. Cox class. Ashlyn is fun, very girly, loves anything sparkly, frilly and pink. She loves to dance around and also do gymnastics.  She is very helpful in the kitchen and whenever I am making any meal she wants to be in there helping. She is still a shorty :)
She is a special girl and we love her so much!!
Happy 6th B-day Ashlyn.  It's going to be a great year!!

Who Needs 'Em Anyway?

So, this is what I've been like for the last 2 weeks.....
NON- FUNCTIONING!
I had my tonsils out July 13th.  They needed to come out, I'm glad to know it was all worth it :) They were really big and had a ton of scar tissue on them and had white caves all over them....ewww! I'm glad they are gone, but the recovery has been rough!
I'm still not 100%, I feel very drained, my throat still hurts a bit kinda like a mild sore throat, but so much better than it was, so I'll take it! It kills when I yawn which will take a couple more weeks to go away, and I have no energy WHAT. SO. EVER. The Doc said I'll probably feel like that for a couple more weeks.  Gosh, why does it have to be so hard on adults?  This is long! I'm so ready to feel completely normal again. It's been very hard to try and get back to my day to day things.

Here I am just waiting for surgery

 And After :)

I'm SO GRATEFUL for those friends and family that helped take care of me and my family during this time.  I was so out of it on medication, the meds made me puke and feel so whoozy and knocked me out, it was horrible, but I was sure glad they helped with the pain, just not glad to be puking and feeling so crappy in other ways.  It hurt to speak, to eat, to swallow.....ouch! Painful stuff! I'm glad it's over!
I'm not one who really likes to have to be waited on and taken care of.  But, I understand the importance of service and allowing others to help me out when they really wanted to helped give them blessings of service too.  And they really did help out so much with the kids, with meals....I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. Artie helped out SOOOO much too.  He has been super dad for the last couple months with me being gone to Camp Ruth, then Girls Camp and then my Tonsils....He has been so great!!! I love him so much!! And now with all that...Summer is almost over!
 :( Boo!

We LoVe the 4th!

The 4th of July is one of my Favorite Holidays! The Bunkerville celebration has been a tradition since I was young.  I love it! It makes me so happy that it can still be a tradition for us and our kids too!

Artie getting Adler pumped up for his race.
 He took 1st place

 Ammon's Race
 Ammon took first place
 He was so excited
Ashlyn's pep talk from Dad :)
 Go Ash Go!
1st place Wahoo!! I love how the 2nd place girl is almost the same height as Ashlyn...haha.
All the kids involved also got Cotton Candy
Alley's Race (she is the last one on the right)
Go Alley Go! She always looks at everybody else, look straight ahead girl :)
She was feeling the pressure of winning since her siblings did, but she didn't win. This is her "I'm trying not to be dissappointed" smile. :) All the girls were in a close bunch, she was so close to placing. You did great Alley!
Adler was not leaving this table :)
Rocki & I did the 3 legged race, it was so fun!!

getting sprayed by the firetruck is always one of the highlights

Adler having his own fun in the ditch

Ammon wanted to get sprayed so bad, he started walking out there 3 different times and kept coming right back.  Getting sprayed by water makes him a little nervous, but he had fun playing on the fire truck.
Later that night we watched the slide show of the days events and fireworks at the Bunkerville Park & then did our own fireworks!!

Happy Independence Day! Land of the Free because of the Brave!! I'm So happy & thankful to be an American!
