School Cup Stacking Finals

Ashlyn qualified for the Cup Stacking finals in the 3, 3, 3 and the relay.
Alley also qualified for the 3, 6, 3 and I totally missed it due to a mis-communication of the time. :(
Doing the 3, 3, 3

Doing the Relay.  They had to stack the cups and then run back and tag their partner.
I love that the kids are able to be involved with so many things at PE.  Mr. Durbin gets them pumped up about anything.  It's so great!

Ammon's Preschool Christmas Party

Sharing his pillow and blanket for the movie

He told me this has to be the real Santa.  He sure sounded like it with an English type accent and all :)

Adler enjoyed the party too!

First Day of School

School has begun for the new school year.  The kids were excited for School to start.
Ashlyn is in 1st Grade now!!

Alley is a big 3rd grader!

Alley was excited to get Mrs Hughes as her teacher

Ashlyn really likes Mrs. Cox

Ammon had to wait for another week for his preschool to start, he was so not patient about it :)
He really like Miss Janeece.  She is great!

Ammon & Degan are in the same class.

The kids all got a blessing from Dad the night before School started, we picked out the first week of clothes for the girls and they were ready!  We are so proud of the hard work they have already put into their homework each night.  It's been so busy with School and Homework and it's hard because I can't help much until after I'm done teaching piano & music class at 6 pm.  But, we are figuring it out and we are hoping for a really great year! The girls also started dance and are really excited about it.

2nd Grade Triathlon

Every year the kids in Mr. Durbins P.E classes look forward to the Spring Triathlon.  Ashlyn is excited that she gets to do it next year.  (they don't participate in the triathlon in Kindergarten)
~Alley and Kyla Bohne waiting for the boys to finish so they can start~
On your mark, get set GO!
They ran all the way down the field and back. Alley got tripped up on the way down the field and fell completely on the grass and was dead last as she got back up.  But, she ran her heart out to catch up and caught up pretty well.  This is their way back up the field. Go Alley!!!
Then they went straight into the gym and they scoot all the way around the gym sitting on these scooters. Then, they run their way to the pool....Alley jumped in clear down at the other end....oh my, we were yelling at her to get out and run down to the other end.  She finally noticed and got out, she lost so much time, Dang it!! Oh well- she jumped in and tried to swim, but she was EXHAUSTED...most of the kids hung onto the edge at the deep end because they were way too tired to swim, some were bawling by this point :) and they made there way down to where they could reach and then ran out of the pool.

All finished!! We are so proud of Alley for finishing and even catching up so good after falling, jumping in at the wrong end of the pool and having issues with getting her shoes off.  (we will be prepared next year with going over the map of the route, getting good running but slip-on shoes and trying not to get tripped :) she kept going and finished and did soooo good!!! She wanted to be in the top 10 so bad!! :( She ended up being 23 out of all of the 2nd grade girls!! Way to Go Alley...we are so proud of you!!
I just had to snap this picture of Ammon and Sydnee (Anderson).
They are so cute together!!

*ScHoOL*

Another School year is underway.  Alley is in 2nd Grade this year.  She is pretty excited.  She seems so much more grown up.  She is in Mr. Moriarty's class. I asked her if she thinks he'll be a fun teacher.  She said she's not quite sure yet.=)  I'm sure it will be great!
Ashlyn is in Kindergarten.....all day long!  Alley had all day Kindergarten too, but it seems a little harder with Ashlyn. She's just so shy!  I think it's just me though.  Ashlyn survived the first day. She said she was hungry....I knew that would happen.  That girl eats every hour, so it's gonna be an adjustment.  She is in Mrs. Hughes' class.  I think it will be great!  She knows just a couple kids in the class.  The night before Artie gave them a fathers blessing.  It's a great 1st day of school tradition and I think it really helps to calm their nerves especially.  As the 1st day of school was getting closer Ashlyn couldn't hardly stand the wait any longer and Alley remembered that they would be getting a blessing from dad.  It's something special that she really remembers dad will do every year.  We also picked out the girls outfits for the whole week and painted their nails.  As you can see in just about every picture Ashlyn is showing off her nails...haha.  She came home after the day at school and some of the paint was coming off so she painted them all again, this time all by herself.  White, purple, green...sparkles...all kinds of colors... haha.  Gotta be pretty at school right?
Day 2- since we were in a rush a little on the first day and the school is a mad house.  We took Ashlyn to her clas first...oops.  Alley ended up being late!  So sorry Alley. =(
I got their official pictures by the door on the second day.  The girls were both ready to go back to school on the 2nd day.  So, I guess everything is good and they are still excited about it. =)  Alley has been telling Ashlyn all about P.E. So Ashlyn can't wait for that part!
Well, the girls are in school and I got the boys at home. We'll see if we can keep Ammon entertained.  We start Joy School next week with him so we'll see how that goes!  I also start my Music classes next week. Busy, Busy, Busy this year I guess =)
